Curator, Frieze Projects

Frieze is searching for an experienced curator to devise, programme and execute its non-profit programme at Frieze London, encompassing Frieze Projects, Frieze Film, Frieze Music and Frieze Artist’s Award. Frieze Projects and Frieze Artist’s Award is supported by LUMA Foundation.

Reporting into the Artistic Director and assisted by an Associate Curator, the Curator will have sole responsibility for the delivery of a high profile and innovative art programme at Frieze London. The role follows on from the critically acclaimed platform initiated by Polly Staple and continued by Neville Wakefield, Sarah McCrory and, most recently, Nicola Lees.

Person specification:
• Demonstrable and significant experience working in the visual arts
• Proven experience of managing complex exhibition productions and commissions with contemporary artists, including site-specific commissions and film projects
• An understanding of the opportunities and parameters of working in a fair context
• Excellent written, editing and presentation skills
• Ability to support applications for major funding grants
• Understanding of relationship management with key stakeholders including: collaborating institutions, public-funding bodies, sponsors and press
• Hold existing relationships with both established and emerging artists working world-wide
• Proven ability to work to deadlines and budget

The position is based in London. The Curator is supported by a full-time Associate Curator and the full production / art fair team.

VIP and Museum Relations Associate, U.S.A

Requirement: Permanent, full-time
Deadline for applications: 3pm on 7 August 2015
Location: New York office, Manhattan
Salary: dependent on experience and available upon request

The role will manage VIP stewardship and cultivation for U.S. based VIPs. This will include maintaining a portfolio of approximately one hundred U.S. VIP groups, primarily patrons groups from domestic museums, with the goal of encouraging their increased attendance across all Frieze Fairs. You will develop a program of engaging activities for this audience and be given clearly defined targets for establishing new relationships, which emphasize growth in key areas throughout the country.

You will be extremely organized in your advance planning, events execution, administrative duties and communication with internal stakeholders in Frieze’s offices both in London and New York, as well as with external partners. While your day-to-day work will be based from the Frieze New York office, you will be a core member of the VIP Relations department that is based in London, which will require you to show flexibility in how you participate in departmental activities, as well as additional diligence in keeping the department informed of your work. You will enthusiastically and professionally represent Frieze at domestic events as well as at all Frieze fairs. You will always ensure the utmost discretion and confidentiality with all proprietary information.
