Frieze Academy Programmer

Launched in December 2015, Frieze Academy is an innovative series of talks, workshops and symposia exploring a wide range of subjects from the worlds of art and culture.

This position is a unique opportunity to shape and develop a programme of events and courses for a new frieze venture based in London, Frieze Academy. Creating insightful and timely courses of the highest quality, the candidate needs to have an in-depth knowledge of contemporary art and culture and the ability to be able to translate ideas and themes into compelling events.


• Develop the future vision of Frieze Academy with the Publisher
• Produce a diverse range of high-quality courses to meets targets
• Lead and coordinate internal and external projects teams to generate content ideas
• Successfully manage external speakers, curators, collaborators and staff
• Produce meaningful learning materials and experiences to support the programme
• Devise the annual marketing plan, alongside the Head of Communications
• Deliver solid attendance from both repeat and new audiences
• Develop a partnerships strategy to foster city-wide strategic partners and commercial sponsors
• Design, schedule and deliver the programme of events, with a high-quality guest experience


• Experience in journalism, curating or working professionally within the arts
• Commissioning experience
• A thorough understanding of the education sector
• Strong business skills including partnership management
• Ability to identify emerging trends and themes
• An entrepreneurial outlook
